Annual Hunger Summits held in Washington D.C. and Springfield, IL are regularly attended by NAHN representatives. Attendees have an opportunity to hear from leaders in the fight against hunger, learn best practices and lobby elected officials. Information is then shared with the larger group of NAHN agencies.
NAHN was instrumental in bringing a much-needed Community Quality Council (CQC) to the Uptown area. CQC’s are meetings led by the Illinois Hunger Coalition that bring service providers and representatives from the IL Department of Human Services together to discuss issues, opportunities to improve service and learn about changes to public benefit resources. Regular CQC meetings support clients of NAHN agencies by helping to reduce bureaucracy and confusion around distribution of federal nutrition benefits.
